1 ELA DATA ANALYSIS Semester 1

2 Team Make Up My students are on each team in the department because they are ESOL students, and I am the sheltered ELA teacher for 7 th grade. The main issue I face in data analysis is my students being compared to age appropriate students who have been in the United States all of their life when most of them have been in the country for less than 3 years. I try to focus on the language acquisition and WIDA standards to combat these issues. The administrative team needs to understand that my students need more time to acquire the vocabulary to master many of these standards. The best help that I can get from administration is to get more lower level reading books that are in Accelerated Reader so that I can expose my students to more vocabulary words.

3 Methodology To determine the passing percentage, the total number of students who scored 70% or higher on the assessment was divided by the total number of students who actually took the assessment. No student’s score who was absent was used to calculate passing percentages.
