History Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) was founded at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1904 by Maurice Carr There are now about 200 chapters at universities across the U.S. and we are currently expanding into Canada There are about 300,000 members HKN members serve the community, university, and department in various activities. Recently merged with IEEE.

Costs Dues: $60 Lifetime membership Cost includes: 1 year IEEE membership 1 year digital edition of Bridge magazine Banquet (yourself + 2 guests) Pin is optional $25.

Entrance Requirements Three components: Test Faculty Signature Sheet 2 Hours Service Most Outstanding Initiate Person with best combination of test score and faculty signatures. Free HKN pin and recognition.

How to Join 1. Enter your HKN member information online (By Mar. 3) We will email you the address of a web form. Fill the form out and submit. Include your IEEE member number, if you are a member. Membership includes 1 free year of IEEE membership effective Sept 1, 2014 to Aug. 30, 2015. 2. Pay membership dues (Due Mar. 3) $60 lifetime dues. Cash or check made out to “Eta Kappa Nu”. Give to Dr. Valenti. 3. Turn in your other materials by Mar. 31: Test (answer sheet only). Signature sheet. Cover of the info packet showing you did your 2 hours service. If you want to go to the banquet, register by Mar. 25.

Induction and Banquet April 4 th is the induction ceremony: 4:45 PM arrive at G39 5:00 PM induction ceremony (guests allowed) 6:00 PM reception @ Waterfront 7:00 PM banquet @ Waterfront Some details: Register for banquet 3 weeks prior. Two free guests at banquet. Guests encouraged at induction. Business attire strongly encouraged. Induction ceremony is required: You are not a member until you are inducted.
