What does the school day look like? Morning registration and Five-a- day: learning begins at 8:45 a.m. English Morning break: 15 minutes Maths Lunch: 1 hour Afternoon registration and independent reading time: reading records out; guided reading Topic work, P.E., science, editing The end of the school day: 3:20 p.m.

Where are we going? Robinwood two-night residential Oct. 17-19, 2016. We’ll be talking about this on Thursday 29 th September at our Robinwood meeting! Knowsley Safari Park Date TBC Planned date of visit: summer term. Stockport Air Raid Shelters Nov. 3, 2016 We’d love for the children to dress up as evacuees for this visit!

Homework in Year 6: Given out on Fridays with a homework letter English + maths, and sometimes Topic work Due on Wednesday Later in the year, we’ll be asking the children to complete a creative project

Spellings Year 5/6 word list has been sent home. We’ll be testing the children on this each half-term Spelling journal testing: children record their spelling errors and take home a list to each week Overview and first spellings will be sent home this Friday

Reading This year, we’ve introduced reading records Daily reading helps children acquire vital new vocabulary Guided comprehension happens once a week Independent reading happens four times a week for each child

Class Dojo Points are awarded for class participation, exemplary behaviour and for when children serve as great role models The app’s Class Story feature allows us to post updates on our learning – if you need a letter to access Class Dojo, please let us know!
