Attendance *School begins promptly at 7:50 am *Please let me know in advance if your child will be absent for an extended period of time. *Make-up work will be provided after the student returns to school. *Adequate time will be given to complete make-up assignments.

Birthdays *You may consider donating a book or game to the class in your child’s name. *Non-food items such pencils, erasers, stickers etc. may be brought to the classroom to celebrate your child’s special day. *Do not send invitations for individual parties to school for distribution -Register with PTO for your directory

For the 2016 school year, all teachers will continue to use Phoenix Grade Book to enter student grades. Parents and students will also still have access to a new and improved portals called ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Parents and students will have near real-time access to information on assignments and grades, attendance, class schedules, graduation status and more. ParentVUE offers a single sign-on to view school information for all siblings, regardless of the grade level or school of attendance.

Grading Grade scale changes in 3 rd Grade E= 4 M= 3 P= 2 B= 1 Overall letter grade in each subject at the end of the quarter

Lunch time: 11:05-11:35 Our ice cream day will be Wednesday Send in a note if you are joining us for lunch– No restaurant food! If you would like a school lunch, your child can make your lunch choice in the morning Check in office Lunch money in baggie with name and number Lunch

Snack *Working snack time in the morning *Please pack 1 healthy, small snack *Avoid all snacks containing peanuts Tests *Math, Science, and Social Studies Tests will be announced in advance *Study Guides available on 3 rd Grade Team Page *Word Study Tests will be on Friday Thursday Folders *Empty, sign, and return Friday

Students are required to go home each day as indicated at the beginning of the year Send in a note with transportation changes If a change is necessary by email, CC: Angela Ferrer to ensure request is received Transportation

Parent Homework: 1.Sign-up for first quarter conferences (fill out a reminder for your convenience) 2.Please take packet on desk; read, fill out, and return no later than September 4 th – Read, sign, and return bottom portion in Student Agenda 3.
