Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest. On every side doors were thrown open to the proclamation of the truth. The world seemed to be lightened with the heavenly influence.” 9Testimonies p. 126.

It is a spiritual work-1 Chronicles 28:9,10 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. 10 Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it. A call to service for Christ comes after a personal relationship with Christ.

BUILDING INTEREST FOR BIBLE STUDIES Making Friends with People Home Visitation New Testament Method of Creating and Building Interest
28
MAKING FRIENDS WITH THE PEOPLE ( THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS) Matthew 4:14: Jesus loved people and never failed to help them (Mark 1:41, 6: 34) Matthew 9:10 Jesus was able to be friendly to all kinds of people (Mark 2:15) John 3:1,2Jesus showed interest in every one he met and tried to give them spiritual help (John 4:7)

30
MAK E USE OF OPPORTUNTIES TO HELP OTHERS There are many opportunities for us to offer help and friendship: sickness family death new neighbors people in prison widows old people Building/farming

9. Tactful
38
In the work of soul- winning, great tact and wisdom are needed. The Savior never suppressed the truth, but He uttered it always in love.
39
In His intercourse with others, He exercised the greatest tact, and He was always kind and thoughtful. He was never rude, never needlessly spoke a severe word, never gave unnecessary pain to a sensitive soul
40
The laborer for God is to study carefully the best methods, that he may not arouse prejudice or combativeness. This is where some have failed.
41
Many souls have been turned in the wrong direction, and thus lost to the cause of God, by a lack of skill and wisdom on the part of the worker.
42
Tact and good judgment increase the usefulness of the laborer a hundred-fold. If he will speak the right words at the right time, and show the right spirit, this will exert a melting power on the heart of the one he is trying to help.
43
10. Courteous
44
Those who work for Christ are to be upright and trustworthy, firm as a rock to principle, and at the same time kind and courteous. Courtesy is one of the graces of the Spirit.
45
To deal with human minds is the greatest work ever given to man; and he who would find access to hearts must heed the injunction, ‘Be pitiful, be courteous,’ (1 Peter 3:8).
46
5. A call to 21 st century leadership is a call to be a dynamic witness – Acts 1:8 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
47
6. A call to 21 st century leadership is a call to be a good example – 1 Timothy 4:12 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
48
7. A call to 21st century leadership is a call to unity – John 17:21-23 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
49
A good leader is a team player MMark 3:24,25 224. And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. NNot a dictator
50
Cont’d SStrives for unity at all cost RRomans 12:18 118. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. GGet along well with others
51
TEAM BUILDING & TEAMWORK It’s God’s Plan:Unity-Jn 17:21-23
52
Five reasons why teams are indispensable in God’s work 1. No one of us is as smart as all of us together.Ecl4:9 2. The strength of all of us together is greater than the sum of the individual strengths in group. 3. Individuals may receive trophies, but team win championships. 4. There is power in collective decision-making and support. 5. Teamwork is God’s idea.
53
Eight reasons why some teams perform poorly 1.Individuals in team don’t feel a sense of belonging. 2.Lack of motivation and incentives. 3.Competitiveness among team members. 4.The passion for individual credit or recognition.
54
Genuine Leadership Leadership that seeks to divide is not true and genuine in nature, it is ungodly and unchristian. On the contrary, leadership that seeks reconciliation and conflict resolution is what is required in every true, honest and God fearing leader. Indeed, unity is the soul of fellowship if destroyed the body of Christ loses its ability to function effectively and efficiently.
55
Spiritual Leadership Hence every Leader strives to achieve and keeps unity, because he knows unity is essential for success (Piper,n.d.). A spiritual leader therefore, cannot listen nor participate in gossip. Warren, (2002) in his book, The purpose Driven Life, States “people who gossip to you will also gossip about you.
56
Another four reasons why some teams perform poorly 1.Conflicting agendas of team members. 2.Absence of a unifying leader. 3.Fuzzy goals and mission. 4.Lack of confidence in leader or team members.
57
Spiritual Leadership Relationship should be maintained or reestablish even in the midst of differing opinions. “God expect unity, not uniformity, hence, Christians can walk arm- in- arm without seeing eye- to eye on every issue”. (Warren,2002,p.158)
58
Building and maintaining a winning team Qualities of high performance teams: a. Strong personal commitments to one another’s growth and success. b. Mutual accountability of team members. c. Team members commitment to the success of the team over personal recognition. d. A passion for excellence in all team members. e. A willingness on the parts of team members to exert themselves as much as is possible for team success.
59
Tips for Building And Maintaining A Winning Team a.Make everyone on the team feel important to the team. b.Have regular dialogue with the team as well as individual team members. c.Ensure that expectations are clear. d.Communicate clearly. e.Settle conflicts quickly. f.Make sure every team member knows and understands the part he/she has to play.

8. A call to 21 st century leadership is a call to plan well. 9. A call to 21 st century leadership is a call to proclaim the truth with boldness– Ephesians 4:15 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
61
1 Peter 3:15 15. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
62
14.. A GOOD LEADER LOVES PEOPLE AND IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OTHERS John 15:12,13 12. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
63
22 Samuel 12:7,9 77. And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 99. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
64
10. A call to 21 st century leadership is a call to follow church procedure & protocol.
