Dictionary Dictionary: A reference book containing an alphabetical list of words, with information given for each word, usually including meaning, pronunciation, and etymology.

Thesaurus Thesaurus: A book which alphabetically lists words and provides synonyms and related concepts. o Synonym: A word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language. o Antonym: A word opposite in meaning to another.

Encyclopedia Encyclopedia: A book or set of books giving information on many subjects or on many aspects of one subject and typically arranged alphabetically.

Manual Manual: A book of instructions, esp. for operating a machine or learning a subject; a handbook.

Almanac Almanac: Annual publications of weather forecasts and other information arranged according to the calendar of a given year.

Magazine Magazine: A periodic publication containing pictures, stories, and articles of interest to those who purchase or subscribe to it.

Newspaper Newspaper: A daily or weekly publication that contains news, articles, and advertisements.

Documentary Documentary: A movie, television program, or radio program that provides a factual record or report.

Speech Example: o State of the Union Address Speech: A form of communication in spoken language, made by a speaker before an audience for a given purpose.

Letter Letter: A written or printed communication addressed to a person or organization and usually transmitted by mail.

Biography Biography: Accounts of the series of events of a person’s life.

Autobiography Autobiography: An account of a person's life written by that person.
