1 ABSTRACT This is the template for preparing posters for the Electrical Safety Workshop (ESW). It is intended to define the required format for printing and presentation at the ESW. Information regarding text style, margins, headings, etc., is included. Note that the layout, margins, and style of this template follow the requirements described here. Authors using Microsoft PowerPoint are to use this template in preparing their poster by substituting their own text for the text of this template. Title of Poster First Author 1 and Second Author 2 1 Company Affiliations, 2 Company Affiliations Author’s address and email: should be able to locate the focus of each heading in your paper. The primary heading of each section must be in the font and size shown here. Secondary headings may be used. These would be in the same font as the primary heading. An example of a secondary heading follows. Secondary Heading This is an example of a secondary heading. It is separated from text that follows by one line of space. Font type is the same as the primary heading but it is smaller in size and in upper and lower case. 3.Abstract: The abstract is a concise, one- paragraph collection of statements that describe the most significant ideas, procedures, and/or results of the paper. Concepts not explored in the paper are not to be included here. The abstract of the paper may be duplicated here in its entirety, or condensed further if the author wishes to limit abstract space on the poster. 4.Introduction: The introduction prepares the reader for the body of the poster by giving historical and/or background information and by serving as a guide to the author’s approach, and organization of the material. It should be based on the introduction of the paper, but can be summarized here in the interest of poster space. If enumerated, the author must carry the same enumerated headings style throughout the paper. 5.Body: The body of the poster should communicate information efficiently and effectively to the reader. Utilize graphics and pictures whenever possible to illustrate your point and break up long sections of text. All IEEE requirements and guidance on noting source of photographs, illustrations, and other images must be followed. Permission to use must be obtained from the original author if copyrighted. Remember that the audience will have copies of your paper for reference or detail reading. 6.Conclusion: The conclusion should be a clearly stated finish to your poster. The conclusion of your paper can be duplicated here, or summarized in the interest of poster space. INTRODUCTION Posters are created using the software program Microsoft PowerPoint. This template provides a general overview for authors preparing posters for presentation. 1. The workshop will print and post your poster at the workshop. Posters must be formatted in the style described and shown in this document. An electronic editable copy is required. Poster is to consist of a SINGLE ‘slide’ Use of graphics and pictures is encouraged; makes for a more interesting presentation. 2. Keep the following points in mind. All attendees will have a copy of your paper as part of the workbook handed out at registration. IEEE commercial policies apply (so don’t list or show manufacturer names, symbols or use proprietary names). All authors are required to stand by their posters during the poster presentations to answer questions, provide details, etc. Refer to the schedule received at registration for exact time and location. REFERENCES 1.Author, A. A., Author, A., & Author, A. A. A. (Date). Title of book chapter, Publisher, Publishing city, State. 2.Author, A. A., & Author, A. (Date). Title of Article in Journal. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS A special thank you to an individual or individuals (not companies) for contributing significantly to the paper and poster (but not an author) is acceptable. Their full name and company affiliation may be provided here. This part of the poster is optional, as is the References section that follows. CONCEPT 1 An ESW poster is created using the following major elements: 1) Title; 2) Author’s information, 3) Abstract, 4) Introduction, 5) Body, 6) Conclusion. You may include additional elements such as Acknowledgements, References, and Vita, if so desired. These elements must always appear in the order shown in this template. For example, the Introduction should always follow the Abstract, and Vita, if used, should always be the last part of the poster. The requirements of style and content for each of these parts are discussed next. CONCEPT 2 The order of discussion for the various possible parts of the poster should be as they appear in this template. Items 1-6 are required for all posters. 1.Title: The title at the top of the poster should match the title of your paper. Author names should match the names on the paper. Author names are to be typed in upper and lower case as shown. The authors address and/or email information is required. Do not include telephone numbers. CONCLUSION This poster template describes the basic format and style for ESW poster presentations. For additional information, contact the technical program chair. CONCEPT 3 An organized headings system serves to divide the body of the poster into clearly marked sections that help the reader locate major points. It also helps the author develop his or her topic in an orderly manner. You do not have to duplicate the headings of your paper here but the reader
