Phonics Bug and Bug Club are a pair of resources provided by Pearson Publishers. They have been shown to raise attainment in reading. Can be used in the classroom and at home.

Phonics Bug progresses seamlessly into Bug Club as children’s reading develops. It’s used in two main ways: as a classroom- based teaching tool and to facilitate reading for pleasure at home.
5
We subscribe to Bug Club online because it means we can access Pearson’s huge catalogue of texts electronically. In the classroom, children log on using the school tablets during guided reading lessons. Example child: Hazel Nutt (Y4/5, hazenutt).
6
Teachers will set up a range of books for your child to access when they log in at home. The evidence tells us that when reading for pleasure, children should access texts at an easier level.
