11 This Presentation is a tool to help the Student/Athlete and Parent open lines of communications with the coaching staff. If all three parties are to be positive and honest with one another, these procedures must be followed. Step 1 The initial question should always be dealt with by the student/athlete and the coach. If the student/athlete is concerned about going to the coach, he/she should talk with the team captain. Step 2If the athlete is still not satisfied, he/she should speak with the coach for a more direct response. (Both sides should communicate openly.)

12 Step 3 If there are still questions that need to be answered, both the athlete and parent should talk directly with the coach. (All three sides should communicate openly.) Step 4If agreement has not taken place at this point, then a meeting with all stakeholders and Activities Director should take place. Parents: Remember – if your student/athlete has any questions about playing time – it is HIS/HER responsibility to talk to the Coach, not yours! Our Goal:It is our Goal to make sure that every athlete knows his/her importance to the team. If more clarity needs to take place, the COACH is the answer person, not the Activities Director.
