ISRAEL BUILT MANY SETTLEMENTS IN THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK Currently, 59% of West bank officially under Israeli control. 23% under Palestinian civil control, but Israeli security control. Remainder of territory is governed by Palestinian National Authority.

TODAY Much dispute, fighting & acts of terrorism over land and borders. Hamas and the PLO actively in conflict with Israel. Today, Israel has control over 78% of former Palestine, rather than 55% allocated under initial UN Plan of Partition.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS Many moderate Arabs want Israeli withdrawal to pre-1967 borders Hamas (currently in power ) does not want a peace agreement, wants a single Palestinian state 2 States solution 1 State solution Israel’s “land for peace” deals
