10. Fall of Rome The Western half of the Roman Empire fell once and for all when the Goths (tribes from Germany) conquered the city of Rome in 476 A.D. This probably would not have happened if Rome was not weak from other problems going on in the Empire

11. What happened when the Goths took over? The Goths and tribes that took over Rome never developed a formal government to replace the empire, so Western Europe entered a period of chaos and disorder.

12. The end of an era The fall of Rome marks the end of the Classical Period- a period of history characterized by the dominance of Greece and Rome
