Erosion Erosion- the act which the earth is worn away mainly by natural causes

What causes erosion? Wind, water, and ice Weathering often contributes to this process Global Warming is speeding up erosion

Where does it occur? Often happens on hillsides Typically after rain storms Land slides can speed up the process

Ecological Impact Can remove top soil for agriculture Impact the water quality of main water sources Can affect near by roadways

Prevention Methods Planting crops Mulch or fertilizer Retaining walls to prevent run off
