3. What causes erosion?  Wind, water, and ice  Weathering often contributes to this process  Global Warming is speeding up erosion

4. Where does it occur?  Often happens on hillsides  Typically after rain storms  Land slides can speed up the process

5. Ecological Impact  Can remove top soil for agriculture  Impact the water quality of main water sources  Can affect near by roadways

6. Prevention Methods  Planting crops  Mulch or fertilizer  Retaining walls to prevent run off
