Departure Procedures Students and chaperones drop off luggage 7:30. Chaperones and 8 th grade boys pack equipment. Suitcases and large instruments should be loaded underneath. Small instruments and duffle bags should be loaded in overhead compartments. Jazz Band Instruments packed last Bring own lunch/snack to eat on bus

Chaperone introductions Final instructions 8th grade dismissed to board first bus 6th/7 th grade board second bus STUDENTS MUST REMAIN ON SAME BUS FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIP

IMPORTANT Band Members are to find out what work will be missed while they are on the trip. Teachers will be flexible if students demonstrate proper responsibility.

Thursday Overview Snack: On Bus Pioneer Tunnel– Lunch, tour, gift shop Hotel Check-in Hotel Dinner Hotel recreation

12 p.m. Arrival Tour according to grade May want to bring a sweat shirt Bring own lunch Ice cream and gift shop will be open Tour 3:30 p.m. Departure Pioneer Tunnel: Coal Mine & Steam Train

Hotel Check-In Holiday Inn, Grantville, PA 717-469-1554 Students will retrieve their suitcase from the sidewalk, collect their uniform and room key in that order. Chaperones will check room and provide instructions for the evening. 5-6 Free time in room area only. Doors remain open.

Pasta Party & Ice Cream Social Tossed Salad with dressing Various Pasta Dishes Garlic Bread or Bread sticks Assorted Soft Drinks Assorted Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Cherries, Chocolate Sauce, Caramel Sauce, Marshmallow, Peanuts and Assorted Candy Toppings

Evening Activities Areas students are allowed: pool, volley ball, lobby or in the room area. Students must have something on their feet at all times (except at pool) Students need to remember their room number and keep their key with them at all times. Students must be in room by 10 pm.

Rooms at 10 p.m. Doors can remain open and students can watch TV, play games and call room-to-room. However, calm and quiet is stressed to not inconvenience other hotel guests. Chaperone will cover the following topics: Fire evacuation, Wake-Up Call, Security, Breakfast

Lights Out 10:30 p.m. Doors are closed, lights out and students in their beds. TVs may stay on softy if all in room agree. No one is allowed in the hall No more telephoning room-to-room. Security Guard on duty from 11 am to 6 am. Ridoux receives a report in the morning.

Breakfast 7:00 a.m. Dressed in full uniform Suitcase packed accept for clothing items needed for the park Room cleaned Hot and Cold Buffet style breakfast

Hotel Check Out Uniform gets packed in suitcase Tie is collected by Mrs. Chandler following performance Students wear their Cedar Drive T-Shirt Chaperone checks condition of room Return room Keys to Mrs. Pollak Bring suit cases to lobby

Hershey Park Chaperones have cell phones and #’s The Big Claw. This will be the meeting place for awards ceremony departure. Students assigned to touring groups with two or three chaperones. Water rides may be permitted depending on weather conditions. Lunch – Tidal Force Catering Area 12:00-4

Walk to ceremony together 4:30 Awards Ceremony begins 5 p.m. Return to Park 7 p.m. Dinner at Chocolate World Not included in trip cost 8 pm. Departure 11:00 p.m. arrival at Cedar Drive! ALL students must bring their instrument home or bring in to the bandroom 4:00 Meet at the Claw
