3 Expectations - classroom, behaviour and project requirements As a table group I want you to discuss the top ten expectations that you think I require and then write them down on the piece of paper required. Think about … The environment Subject area Yourself - goals

4 Health & Safety Knowledge As a table group create a mind map based on health and safety – how many factors and rules can you think of?

5 Design Situation You or your friend have a need to save some money but have no safe place to put the money. Design and manufacture a wooden money box that is suitable for a child, aged between eleven and fourteen years. The money box needs to be made out of softwood and feature at least one set of woodworking joints. The money box needs to be able to sit on a shelf or mantle piece and safely store the money so that you do not lose any coins. If time allows the money box can have a decorative front which can be made out of either wood or plastic.  Please write down on the paper provided your version of the situation and brief *Try to be as descriptive as you can in order to show a good level of understanding Design Brief

6 Considerations Who is going to use the money box? Where is the money box going to be kept? How will the money go into the money box? How are you going to open the money box (to get the money out)? What size do you think the money box is going to be (dimensions)? What decorative design could you have on the front? WHY?! – Please answer the questions above on your current piece of paper with the situation and brief on. …Remember DETAILED answers!!!

7 Mind Mapping Create a mind map based on… ‘Money Box Project’ Anything and everything that you have learnt in today’s lesson!  Be creative by using colour and images too! Examples on the next two slides…
