CLINICAL GUIDELINES ON HYPERTENSION IN ADOLESCENTS
Clinical guidelines on hypertension in adolescents are crucial as far as evidence of health care practice is concerned. Nurses are able to anticipate minimization of risks if they adopt and use clinical guidelines in their profession (Lurbe et.al. 2009). In order to come up with accurate clinical guidelines on hypertension it is necessary to constitute a group consisting of members from various disciplines . With views from different people, the guidelines are developed in a rigorous and controlled manner A systematic literature review is done to ensure that relevant documents are studied and covered. A draft containing series of recommendations is presented by the group to patients and other professionals for proper review (Lurbe et.al. 2009). A consensus is developed after recommendations are incorporated in the group work Nursing associations, medical professionals and government agencies are the sources that are used in development of these guidelines. Guidelines are supposed to be reliable, clear, valid, flexible, and amenable as far as clinic audit is concerned
