© 2006 OpenGridForum 2 Context and Assumptions Metrics are the objective and quantitative things that clearly indicate how well OGF is accomplishing it’s mission Metrics are not the actions nor means to accomplishing the mission Every organizational action should be justified in terms of positively impacting metrics Metrics are decomposed hierarchically, i.e. each function needs to have metrics that rolls-up to top-level metrics

© 2006 OpenGridForum 5 Key Objectives (MSC/Function level) Standards Develop standards that represent community requirements including vendor/developer adoption issues/constraints. Enterprise Establish a forum for Enterprise end users and vendors/developers to communicate requirements to the Standards function. Establish a forum for Enterprise end users to address the immediate needs of using currently available Grid technology eScience Marketing Create effective communication channel internally and externally to promote OGF value and key activities. Operations Meet the IT needs of the other functions in order for them to accomplish their objectives.

© 2006 OpenGridForum 6 Key Actions (MSC/Function level) Standards By xxx, the TSC is established as the means for determining the roadmap/timeline for what specifications will meet what requirements when. Enterprise By OGF 19, capture top-of-line requirements from enterprise end users and work with Standards effort via the TSC to comprehended those requirements in the standards roadmap. Hold two Best Practices workshops (with eScience) at each OGF event and publish the results. Hold one Enterprise non-OGF outreach event each quarter. Starting at OGF19, establish the vendor adoption forum. Re-charter the EGR to roll-up, analyze and prioritize end-user requirements. Develop an Enterprise track at each OGF event eScience Hold two Best Practices workshops (with eScience) at each OGF event and publish the results. Marketing By xxx, implement a new web site that is friendly to enterprise, eScience and standards members. Operations Create 1month cash flow reserve by end of 2007. Establish meeting effectiveness tools for calendaring and live sharing/editing of documents. Regional Hold at least one regional OGF event/meeting per year.
