3 OUR VISION: The Pittsburgh Veteran Rapid Response Boot Camp strives, through coordinated partnerships and community engagement, to connect homeless Veterans with safe and stable housing, as well as a range of supportive services, to support their individual needs and aspirations for success. This means, that for all Veterans: 1.Episodes of homelessness will always be rare, brief and nonrecurring; 2.Supportive services will be available based on individual needs and resources; 3.Choice of housing options will be honored; and 4.Advocacy will continue to ensure programs are financially and programmatically sustainable.

4 BOOT CAMP GOALS: Identify all homeless Veterans within Allegheny County Ongoing Veterans are placed in permanent housing within an average of 90 days from the date of identification as homeless. Service intensive transitional housing is: A short-term bridge to permanent housing Offered only to those Veterans indicating a preference for it. Develop the systems & processes enabling a collaborative approach to addressing Veteran homelessness.

5 PROGRESS: ? 12/31/2015 460 homeless Veterans permanently housed, 850 homeless Veterans provided supportive services 10/1/2015 USICH releases Federal Criteria and Benchmarks for Ending Veteran Homelessness 11/19/2014 153 Veterans permanently housed 8/8/2014 Inaugural meeting Goal: Permanently house 484 homeless Veterans by 12/31/2015

6 HIGHLIGHTS: Bus signage for United Way 2-1-1 141 buses, 50 bus shelters 229 landlords contacted 2-1-1 OPERATION: HOME Landlord Information Session 30 landlords attended 4 contacts led to leases 1 developer committed to 20% all new units for homeless Veterans Bi-weekly case conferencing Formalized Standard Operating Procedures
