6. …6… Less money! Challenging economic environment = universities need to do more with less EUA’s Public Funding Observatory shows: In 15 systems universities received less direct public funding in 2014 than in 2008!

7.  Performance elements are more and more frequently found in funding mechanisms although their share in overall funding can often be limited. More performance!

10.  Some universities have more than a 100 funding sources!  Tendency for further increase in the future!  New funding sources often represent a small % of overall budget  Different accountability regimes – high costs of compliance! More diverse income sources!
