Definitions Logging –Records changes to safe place. Recovery –Replays the most recent logs on top of your backup in the event of a system failure. Replication –Using logs to make copies of the main database (2-5 sec delay) On-Line Replication –Updating secondary databases without using Log files. (1-2 sec. delay) –(TCP/IP) Posting –Applying Log files to database during Recovery and Replication.
