1. Who would Jesus choose to be his disciple and why? John committed a serious crime when he was younger. He went to prison for 4 years but went through an education programme, and has been through rehabilitation. Peter has never committed a crime. He is an atheist and often likes to argue with people over religion. He likes to prove people wrong in their beliefs and asks really tricky questions. Write down who you think God would choose as his disciple and why you think this.

6. Prejudice: to be in favour or against someone or something without evidence. To pre- judge. Discrimination: to treat someone or something differently either favouring or denying something, e.g. not allowing lepers to be part of the community in Mark’s Gospel. Justice: ensuring that all are treated fairly and their rights are upheld You can get asked to define words so make sure you learn them. Tip!

Agree I agree, Levi should not have been a disciple because he was not sorry for his sins I also agree because Levi would have been a bad role model for other people who were considering following Jesus. Finally, I agree because Levi was a traitor of the Jewish people- these are God’s chosen ones. However, I disagree because all of the other disciples were ordinary, normal men and were sinners too. I also disagree because it shows that Jesus came for those who were outcasts and low down in society- anyone can be a disciple. Finally, I disagree because it shows that people have the power to change when Jesus calls them. Disagree ‘Levi should not have been a disciple because he was a bad role model’. Do you agree?
