Way for leaders to hear state-level concerns, see successes, and be seen by those unable to attend national conferences. President can be a keynote (no honorarium). AASL covers travel expenses, asks Affiliate to waive registration.

12. Affiliation Process Form is included in handbook –The purposes of the organization must be compatible with those of AASL as verified by the organization's constitution and/or bylaws. (NEW: Affiliates do not need to re-submit for re-affiliation unless changes have been made) –The organization must hold regular conferences or meetings. –The organization must have a systematic channel of communication with its membership (e.g. newsletter). –25 of the organization’s members or ten percent of the organization's membership including the president and the delegate MUST be personal members of AASL.
