Culminating Workshop for Field Experiences

EDU 5601: Introduction/Foundation to School Administration and Leadership : 25 hours of pre-practicum experience are embedded in this course. Your course professor will oversee these hours. You will not need to identify a supervising practitioner from the school district. EDU 5602:Seminar in Educational Administration and Leadership: 50 hours of pre-practicum experience are embedded in this course. Your course professor will oversee these hours. You will not need to identify a supervising practitioner from the school district.

EDU 5612 Educational Organizations, Leadership and Institutional Change EDU 5618 Leadership for Professional Development EDU 5624: Curriculum Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation EDU 6630: Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction EDU 6635: School Personnel Management (EDU 665 for those in SPED Admin) 20 Hours of practicum experience will be embedded in each of these courses. You will have a college supervisor assigned to you and will need to identify a supervising practitioner from the district to supervise these hours before EDU 5612 begins. The practicum hours in these courses count toward the 500 hrs. of practicum experience required by the DESE for administrative licensure. The college supervisor will meet once with the student and the supervising practitioner during EDU 5612, 5624 and 6635.

All students will have completed 100 hours of the practicum experience after completing the hours embedded in EDU 5612, EDU 5618, EDU 5624, EDU 6630 and EDU 6635 (EDU 6765 for SPED Administrators). The 400 Hour Field Experience may begin when candidates have completed and submitted their documentation of the embedded 100 hours. Accumulation of the final 400 hours can officially begin once Candidates have received authorization from the Field Experience Office at AIC Refer to page 21 of the Practicum Guide for Candidates

The Portfolio will contain evidence that demonstrates the candidates transition to the role of school leader Is the Culminating Project for the Program It is a collection of ARTIFACTS aligned to the Professional Standards/Indicators for School Leaders Supports candidates work for MA-PAL

Begin the portfolio with your philosophy of education and a reflection on the process of becoming a school leader Artifacts are categorized according to the Professional Standards/Indicators for School Leaders Each section/component requires three or more examples from the candidates experience – classwork and field experience – this serves as evidence gathering for MA-PAL Label the artifacts as to why it was chosen to represent your work Portfolio is due at the end of you Field Experience (400 hour)

Please note: Summer hours will commence in July and will end the second week of August. Summer hours must be approved by the SLPP Program Director. The summer hours form (pg. 23) must be submitted by June 1 and should include the specific activities the candidate will participate in and their alignment to the Standards for Administrative Leadership. Limited to 125 hours Must be full-role experiences
