3. The Commutative Property of Addition/Multiplication ● The commutative property of addition states that you can add in any order and the sum will stay the same ● The commutative property of multiplcation states that you can multiply in any order and the sum with stay the same Example:

4. The Associative Property of Addition/Multiplication ● The associative property states you can group any two numbers together and the answer will be the same Example: (1+2)+3=1+(2+3) (1x2)x3=1x(2x3)

5. The Identity Property of Addition/Multiplication ● The identity property states that the sum of any number and 0 equals the number itself ● Example: ● 4+0=4

6. The Distributive Property ● The distributive property is when you split the multiplication or in other words distribute ● Example: ● 5(2+3)=5(2)+5(3) ● =10+15
