3 General information about Edmonton Edmonton - the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. It is a city of amazing contrasts, both developed metropolis, and the town with a special calm and cozy atmosphere, magnificent nature and many parks. The city is equally good for outdoor recreation at the weekend and for the active business life, work and study.

4 Edmonton is located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River near the Canadian Rockies. On the banks of the river in the city lie the beautiful parks that echo the coastal contours Saskatchewan. Thanks to the many public gardens, parks and green spaces Edmonton was named one of Canada's most environmentally friendly cities.

5 How to get to Edmonton Edmonton International Airport is located ten kilometers away from the city center. It receives planes from all over the world so you can get here from almost anywhere. The information you have to consider is that there is not really any other way to get from the airport to the city center other than by shuttle bus. It will cost $15 one way and you can buy a ticket in the airport. Of course you can use a taxi but it can be very expensive. You would have to pay at least $ 60. Just about the same as you would pay for a rental car. You should be aware that you would need an international driving license to drive in Canada.

6 Alberta Legislature Building This building was built between 1907 and 1913 and it has 5 floors. Each floor has its own story to tell and you definite won’t be bored here. As well here you will find 55 acres of manicured lawns, tree-lined walking paths and many historical monuments. This place is open 362 days a year and is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Edmonton.

7 Muttart Conservatory One of Edmonton's most iconic structures, the Muttart Conservatory offers a year-round escape into the beauty of the world's plant life. Designed by award-winning Canadian architect Peter Hemingway, the Muttart Conservatory officially opened in September 1976. Renovations were completed in 2009 with a new entrance, gift shop and educational classrooms. The four pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory are home to thousands of species of plants. Each pyramid maintains a distinct environment, representing different biomes of the world.

The plants come from tropical rainforests, tropical evergreen forests or tropical grasslands, and are often showy and bright. The Arid Pyramid showcases plants from the hot and cold dry areas of the world, spanning five continents. They share an ability to thrive in environments with dry air, irregular moisture and wide day/night temperature fluctuations.. The Feature Pyramid exhibit changes completely several times per year providing new experiences for visitors.

9 Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Canada ranks third in the world in terms of the Ukrainian population (after Russia and Ukraine itself). Not surprisingly, the open-air museum dedicated to the cultural heritage of the nation, is in the heart of the Canadian province of Alberta, about 50 km to the east of its capital - the city of Edmonton.
