Tuesday folders: A Tuesday folder will be sent home bi- weekly. The folder will contain graded papers as well as behavior notes, newsletters, school, and community information. Sign and RETURN both the folder and the papers the following day. I will also try to have a progress report in with the papers.
15
Behavior Management Policy I will be implementing a behavior management system. The following are the guidelines for how this system will work. The system will be a “strike system.” Strikes will be given for the areas of concern listed on the following slides.
16
Behavior Management Plan We do not send a weekly report home with the children. (Remember, we are trying to be a go-between elementary and middle school.) But we do notify parents when the children reach the 90 points and 80 points.
17
Behavior Management Policy Each strike is 2 points deducted from conduct grade. Your child will be responsible for giving themselves strikes. They do this by recording the misconduct in a log.
18
Behavior Management Policy Per day: One strike = warning Two strikes = silent lunch Three strikes = note home Four strikes = office referral
19
AREAS OF CONCERN The following are areas in which your child will receive strikes or events in which you may be notified about: _ Excessive Talking _ Disturbs others _ Lack of Effort _ Inattentive _ Disrespectful to others _ Bad attitude _ Excessive tardies _ Excessive absences _ Not prepared for class _ Does not complete work on time _ Incomplete assignments _ Missing assignments _ Poor test scores _ Request a parent conference _ Staying seated _ Inappropriate materials _ Not following directions_ Misbehaving in hallway/restroom
20
Homework Homework assignments are a continuation of classwork. They will be considered late if not ready for class the next day. I do consider it the students’ responsibility to write down their assignments. I am willing to initial what they have written, but it will be their responsibility to write the assignments down. I strongly advise using my website if there are any questions.
21
Projects We are a school that is on grade level, but we enrich our curriculum by studying archaeology, working in the science lab, taking technology classes, and incorporating projects into the normal curriculum.
22
Projects A project is considered late if it is not in the room by 8:10 a.m. the day it is due. Students will not be allowed to call parents if they have forgotten, and 10 points will be deducted for each day the project is late.
23
Grades: The following is the grading scale for all subjects : A 100-90 B 89-80 C 79-70 D 69-60 F 59-0

We are looking forward to a GREAT school!
