What doesn’t change…. The role of the School Based mentor. The £2,100 that a school receives to support Induction. That money will be used to support the NQT’s Professional Development. They will undertake 35 hours of PL in their Host school during the year out of approx. 126.5 hours of their protected 10% extra time. Apart from those five days of training, there are no other changes to the system.
17
What’s the cost to schools? Nothing at all…. All the programmes are funded through the Professional Learning Pioneer grant….
18
When do they start? All NQT’s have been allocated a Host school. This Host school will be the location for your Collaboration days and will also be the place that your External Mentor is employed. The dates for the programme are provided in your packs Your allocated host schools are on the lists on your table. Your schools will contact you this week to give details of your first Twilight engagements.
19
