3 North American Network Operators Group ▪ NANOG is a membership organization ▪ Organized as an 501(c)3 non-profit ▪ Focused on the technologies and systems that make the Internet function

4 History  NANOG evolved from the NSFNET “Regional-Techs” meetings.  In February 1994, the group revised its charter to include a broader base of network service providers, adopting NANOG as its new name.  In February 2011, NANOG became an independent membership organization.  NANOG Meetings are key venues for operational staff to come together and discuss technical operations in a frank and open manner.
