2. Finish Strong Maintain grades while in high school Take classes that will be beneficial for your future career Meet with people who can help you create a strategic career plan

3. Choose Your Program ACC offers various programs of study that lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree Select the program that best fits your needs and goals ACC Degrees and Programs

4. Complete the Application for Admission Apply online through CFNC.org Once you apply and are admitted, frequently check your email for all communications from the college ACC will use email as the primary way to communicate with you about deadlines and next steps in the process

5. Complete the Financial Aid Application Complete FAFSA application You can start as early as October 1 st Schedule a one-on-one appointment for assistance with FAFSA, if needed Pay attention to deadlines for submission and additional documents Just because you have completed the FAFSA does not mean the financial aid process is complete.

6. Activate your student ACCess Account Your ACCess account includes your student ID and other instructions on how to activate your student accounts. This gives you access to Web Advisor, email, and Moodle Once you are accepted as a student this will be the primary form of communication between you and ACC so check it regularly for updates

7. Submit Your Transcript Meet with your counselor about having your transcript sent to ACC Transcripts must be received before you are eligible to register for classes

8. Placement Testing Determine if you need to take the placement test High school GPA, SAT/ACT scores, or transfer credit can exempt you from placement testing Study guides are available to prepare for placement testing online If you are required to take the placement test you must schedule an appointment ahead of time

9. Meet with An Advisor Meet with an academic advisor to register for classes once placement testing is completed Meeting with your advisor is mandatory for all degree seeking students
