1 Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club 2016-2017 Season Team Options: AVVC has 3 levels of teams: ∙ RED ∙ WHITE ∙ LEAPFROG ∙ Our RED Teams: Our elite travel teams that compete against the top teams in the nation and vie for a bid to the USAV Junior National Championships. Red teams participate in 4-7 large overnight tournaments. Tournaments are selected based on competition and college recruiting possibilities. One Red team for the 13, 14,15, 16, 17, and 18s age group. ∙ Our WHITE Teams: play in the GEVA and Keystone Region with less travel and commitment required. Their main competition will be among the mid-level teams locally. 2-4 overnight tournaments. ∙ Our LEAPFROG Program: is focused on basic skill development and comprised of young athletes (boys and girls) new to volleyball who are 13 years old and younger. Month long programs starting in November. Please see chart for a more detailed comparison About Us: AVVC is a member of the Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA), the local region of USA Volleyball (USAV), which is the National governing body for the sport of volleyball in the United States. Last year, AVVC served roughly 175 boys and girls from Essex, Bergen, Hudson, Union, Middlesex, Somerset, Morris, Monmouth, Sussex, and Hunterdon Counties. The majority of our graduating high school seniors from last season are continuing their volleyball careers in college for DI, DII and DIII NCAA Programs. Our experienced coaching staff is comprised of college and high school coaches and many are former college or professional players. Our Mission: The mission of Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club is to promote the sport of volleyball in the communities we serve and to provide an opportunity for boys and girls in New Jersey to elevate their skills, compete at the highest level possible and pursue their passion for the game of volleyball.
