A Brief History I Graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in History-Secondary Education in 2012 I Graduated with my Mastor of Arts in History- Secondary Education in 2015

Classroom Procedures 1) Students will promptly enter the classroom and retrieve their Binders. 2) Students will answer the opening question and be in their assigned seat when the bell rings. 3) Students will keep all your notes and journal entries in there Binder. 4) Students will clear their desks and return all materials before class is dismissed. 5) When working in groups everyone in the group must contribute. 6) Students will turn in finished assignments to the classes designated Turn- in-box 7) Students will remain at their desks at the end of the period until the teacher dismisses the class.

What we do in Mr.K’s class? For background knowledge we will individually take notes from stations or during class-wide discussions. Activities will be conducted in groups and will also be presented or discussed with the class when the assignment is completed. DBQ’s(Document Based Question) will also be group work. However, students will individually write their reports.

What is Pre-AP? At the end of this course, you will have a deeper understanding of the historical events that have created the United States as we know it today. You will: know... – how to use chronological and spatial thinking using timelines, maps, and historical documents. – be able to...research and use evidence to support your point of view. – understand...and distinguish fact from opinion using both primary and secondary sources. Pre-AP does not mean more assignments or work. Rather, the goal of the Pre-AP program to help students comprehend at a higher level of thinking and reasoning.
