Segments A segment is the part of a line consisting of two endpoints and all points between them. Note the different naming notation (no arrowheads!)segment

Rays A ray is the part of a line consisting of one endpoint and all the points of the line on one side of the endpoint. One arrowhead, and the order of points in naming is important!ray

Opposite raysOpposite rays are two collinear rays with the same endpoint. Opposite rays always form a line. Opposite Rays

Name the segments and rays, and a pair of opposite rays in the diagram below. Check Understanding

Skew Skew linesSkew lines are noncoplanar lines; therefore, they are not parallel and do not intersect. Example: Lines through points A and G and points D and C.
