Famous people Geronimo Cochise Cochise was born in Arizona, he was a Chiricahau Apache chief. He fought against the U.S. until they agreed to let his people remain in the Chiricahau mountains until his death in 1874. Geronimo was a fierce Indian warrior who tried to stop the U.S. forces from taking Indian land. Finally, in 1886, Geronimo gave up his battle when the last Apache Indians were moved to a reservation in Florida. During world war 2, paratroopers screamed “Geronimo” as they jumped from planes as a tribute to this great warrior.

Why would someone want to go to my state Arizona is a beautiful state. It has many great places to visit like the Grand canyon, the Roosevelt Dam, and especially the 6 national forests. It has an excellent climate too. Phoenix gets less than 8 inches of rain each year. Arizona has many lakes, rivers and mountains. Arizona is as beautiful as they come!
