4 Required Actions Create school technology plans that are aligned to a long-term systemic technology plan to ensure the integration of technological resources in both instructional delivery and student learning.  Create plan  Incorporate professional development  Plan for expansion and support

6 Required Actions Refine and fully implement strategies to close the achievement gap while maintaining high expectations for students and ensure that no group of students is overlooked regardless of achievement.  Identify specific areas of need  Identify instructional strategies to use  Implement strategies and check results

8 Closing the Achievement Gap OPTION 1 – revise Criterion C Revised Criterion C Criterion C – The principal analyzed school improvement data against ESEA adequate yearly progress goals with a focus on narrowing the achievement gap between subpopulations:  NSLA v. non-NSLA  Hispanic v. Caucasian  Marshallese v. Caucasian  LEP v. non-LEP. Both current year and multiple year trends were used in this analysis.

9 Closing the Achievement Gap OPTION 2 – add new criterion New Criterion Criterion D – The principal analyzed school improvement data with a focus on narrowing the achievement gap between specific subpopulations:  NSLA v. non-NSLA  Hispanic v. Caucasian  Marshallese v. Caucasian  LEP v. non-LEP. Both current year and multiple year trends were used in this analysis.

10 Required Actions Develop a long-range plan to recruit, retain, and support highly qualified and teachers who are representative of the diversity of the students served.  Establish practices to “grow our own”  Making contacts with colleges statewide and nationwide  Continue to develop and improve teacher prep class at SHS  Attend state and national conferences for networking  Encourage current employees to pursue advanced degrees

14 Accreditation Progress Report Process (due Spring 2012) The school district, using the AdvancEd continuous improvement model (Rollins- PDCA), processes the required actions and develops plans Collect data and other qualitative evidence during the process Report using the AdvancEd Progress Report web-based system (submitted by a central office or district representative)  Summary narrative format

15 Accreditation Progress Report Process (due Spring 2012) Once the Progress Report is submitted… It is assigned to readers on the National Accreditation Commission. Each reader affirms (or not) that substantial evidence was presented to justify the district’s response to the required action (which may include not addressing further an AdvancEd recommendation, if justified appropriately.) Recommendations by readers are then ratified by the National Accreditation Commission in an annual review of all schools and districts
