Step one For the six weeks of the programme, try making a retreat in your daily life by: Devoting just three to five minutes at the start of the day in prayer. It can be as simple as just asking God to be with you that day; inviting God to open your eyes to the wonder and the worries of the world around you During the day, taking time at various points of the day to notice; not necessarily to make judgements on things but to allow yourself to be present to your own life. Try to slow down to a pace that allows you to notice things and people and how you are in your own heart and head. At the end of the day; try to give a little bit more time to the prayer at the end of the day. About 15 minutes! Use this time to reflect (perhaps using scripture) on the day. It doesn’t take that long. (See handout).

Consciousness Examen (for the end of the day): "The Examen-ed Life" "The Word of God is very near to you, it is in your mouth and in your heart for your observance. See, today I set before you life and prosperity, death and disaster... Choose life." Deuteronomy 30:14, 15, 19

“A journal is a record of your thoughts, experiences, and observations”. Traditionally, a journal is a written piece but for the purposes of Just Faith we’d suggest the following: Record a video and post it on Facebook or Youtube. If you have a blog or Tumblr share it, or you could tweet it to your followers. It’s suggested that it be in the style of an ‘honest commentary’ as opposed to a more ‘confessional’ piece Key questions that you might explore to camera include: How am I now with ‘Just Faith’? How has my understanding of my faith and God changed? How has this changed me in terms of my understanding of the world? What direction is it bringing me in my life? To what am I being called? How is God challenging me? Step 2: Journaling... With a difference...
