Centre for International Services (DZS) The role: spreading European educational policy in Life Long Learning implementation of European Educational Programmes in relationship with national educational policy tasks related to Czech Government agreements and Ministry of Education decisions

3 The National Agency for European Educational Programmes (NAEP) was established by the Czech Ministry of Education in 2007 as a part of Centre for International Services is responsible for implementation of the Lifelong Learning Programme in the Czech Republic provides promotion of educational programmes, assistance and consultancy services, management of funds and contracts for decentralized actions, monitoring, dissemination and valorisation, organisation of seminars and conferences. web pages: www.naep.cz (also in English version)www.naep.cz

Comenius and eTwinning in the structure of DZS / NAEP 1 of 7 main departments is „School Education Department“ Including: Comenius – all decentralized actions: School partnerships, In-Service Training, Assistantships, Comenius Regio, Individual Pupil mobility eTwinning - National Support Service EUN - Czech membership in European Schoolnet Label – European Language Label

Synergies of all department activities Staff: 10 consultants in total 1) Common strategy of promoting (Comenius, eTwinning, EUN, Label – common target group) 2) DZS has a supportive role in national strategies: - ICT in education (EUN, eTwinning) - Languages (Label, eTwinning, Comenius)

Comenius and eTwinning mutual inspiration Comenius activities include a huge amount of administrative work – applications, controls, evaluation, reports … eTwinning could inspire Comenius in inovative promoting strategies, intensive cooperation with national stakeholders (curriculum, research, universities), regional approach and communication strategy trough ambassadors, publications, quality evaluation, recognition of teachers and pupils activites.

Comenius and eTwinning mutual inspiration eTwinning started without tradition and structure and could be inspired … Comenius activities have a various advantages thanks to agreements with schools - more clear project plans - „higher prestige“ among Czech schools of Comenius activities

COMENIUS in the Czech Rep. 2008 - 2009 2008 grants: 2 887 000 EUR 992 applications / 522 successful applications 3030 mobilities / 2750 mobilities in 154 School Partnerships 2009 grants: 3 425 716 EUR 860 applications / 553 successful applications 3450 mobilities / 3010 mobilities in 166 School Partnerships 2010 – grants: 3 473 950 EUR

eTwinning in the Czech Rep. September 2010 in Europe: - 99000 teachers registrations - 2500 running projects In The Czech Rep.: - 3600 Czech teachers registrations - 370 running projects involving Czech school (1700 project involving Czech school was realized and closed) 2009 in CZ 600 new teacher registrations 500 new project registrations by Czech schools and 75 Quality Labels 2008 in CZ 300 new teacher registrations 400 new project registrations by Czech schools and 64 Quality Labels
