4 Focus on Students

5 Student of the Month Celebration -These students have been recognized for having positive character traits. -We created posters with the character trait and students pictures. -Posted the posters around the school. -Announced their names during school announcements. -Invited to a celebration lunch.

8 Student Recognition -We recognize students accomplishments throughout the hallways. -These students earned the Microsoft and EverFi Certifications -A celebration was also held for these students.

10 Student Recognition Good News Postcards -Teacher will fill out postcard and mail them home. -Goal: Teacher should try to send one postcard for each student throughout the semester.

11 Student Recognition Good News Referrals -The department administrator will call the student out of class. -Read the referral, encourage them to continue the good work. -Give student Buzz Bucks or another reward. -Goal:To have more Good News Referrals than negative referrals

15 Student Rewards -Buzz Bucks are given as a reward -They can be used at the school store or in a raffle for prizes. -We had raffles for entry into school events like games, the prom, concerts, etc.

17 Teacher Recognition -Pictures were taken throughout the school year to show examples of how teachers were SWARMing. -This gave teachers ideas of how to incorporate PBIS into their class. *Click on picture to see movie

18 The Buzz-Teacher Recognition -Teachers are able to acknowledge other colleagues. -Posts are read in the faculty meeting -This form is a Google Doc so it is easy for teachers to post a response.

19 Teacher Support -Teachers have to document any concerns and the actions taken with students -This documentation is turned in with any referrals

20 Teacher Support -We have a SWARMing To The Top Blog -Resources are uploaded for classroom management strategies and instructional tools. -Examples: Dealing with Challenging Behavior, Flipped Classroom resources, ESL: Struggles and Strategies, Positive Discipline Strategies, Best Practices for Teaching African American Boys -http://hornetsswarm.blogspot.com

21 PBIS Intervention Log -Teachers are able to request help from the PBIS team to address negative behaviors. -A Google Form is used to request help. Student Name

22 Teacher Support -Teachers may need PBIS help with a class period. -They can request help from the PBIS Team. -A member will go and observe their class and give suggestions. -Then someone will follow up with the teacher to check on their progres..

24 Teacher Working Condition Survey - We increased in every area concerning managing student conduct. -Students are understanding expectations and follow the rules more. -Most importantly teachers feel they work in a safe environment.

25 Teacher Working Condition Survey - Community Support and Involvement has increased. -Parent support and communication has increased. -The community and parents have given time and money to help reward our students. -We have used avenunes like fundraisers, Donorschoose, and gofundme to raise money.

30 ISS Rates Increase Our ISS Rates increased because: -More teachers followed the PBIS flowchart -Consequences had to be consistent -Teachers documented incidents more this year
