DEGREE REQUIREMENTS All requirements are found on our department websitedepartment website Degree Requirements include: Graduate Academic Integrity Module (Graduate AIM) Automatically enrolled Must complete in first 8 weeks of your first term Attend at least four MME research seminars Attendance certificate to be completed and uploaded to SharePoint site SharePoint site

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: COURSES Must complete 8 one-term (0.50 unit weight) graduate level courses All courses must come from Faculty of Engineering to count towards the degree Four (4) of the eight (8) courses should be from the department of Mechanical Engineering Maximum of two 500-level courses may be counted for credit 2 out of the 8 required courses must be taken from a list of MME graduate core courseslist of MME graduate core courses Mandatory communication course (EMLS 601R Professional Spoken English or EMLS 602R Scholarly Writing in English) Normally taken in the first term of the program. Can be waived at the discretion of the Department

COURSES: ADDING, DROPPING, AND AUDITING Adding/dropping courses during enrollment period done through Quest Graduate courses available for each term found on Graduate Schedule of ClassesGraduate Schedule of Classes 500 level courses found on Undergraduate Schedule of ClassesUndergraduate Schedule of Classes Changes to courses must be done in the first FOUR weeks of the term Changes will not be approved after this without a very strong rationale To add 500-level courses, audits, or add/drop courses outside of enrollment period students will complete a Course Add/Drop form All forms are found on our departmental websiteforms

GRADUATE DIPLOMAS MEng students can earn one of three exciting graduate diplomas (GDip) in conjunction with the MEng degree: Green Energy Fire Safety Design Complete the course requirements of the graduate diploma and declare at the time of graduation to be eligible Only one graduate diploma can be earned in conjunction with the MEng degree Please Note: Students completing one of the three GDip programs in conjunction with the MEng degree are allowed to use the GDip mandatory courses toward the 2/8 core course requirementGDip mandatory courses

GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN GREEN ENERGY Produce engineers with more specialized technical training and a specific focus in green energy Provides new immigrant, foreign-trained engineers a degree program that facilitates quicker entry to Canadian workforce in the important technical area of significant national interest To complete diploma: One required course and three from a list of specific courses (4 in total) For more information on the GDip: Prof John Wen john.wen@uwaterloo.ca or Prof Chao Tan tanz@uwaterloo.ca

GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FIRE SAFETY Caters to engineering graduates, experienced architects, designers, engineers, building consultants and regulatory officials who wish to upgrade and enhance their knowledge of fire safety engineering Provides solid foundation for entry into fire safety related careers in consulting, private and public sectors. Courses available on-campus and online To complete diploma: Three required courses and three from a list of specific courses (6 in total) For more information on the GDip: Prof E.
