Agenda Possible scenarios Solutions to these scenarios How do I set this up? Where do I go from here? How do I manage it all?

Imagine a World… Where you can access any data or any app from anywhere via any device Where you have a copy of your data available to you accessible from anywhere via typically open ports Where firewalls typically don’t inhibit accessing your data

The Solution NetWare ® 6  iFolder™  NetStorage  WebDAV

iFolder Includes a replication client Files are optionally encrypted (transmitted and stored) NetDrive client access to iFolder storage Browser based access to iFolder storage Runs as an Apache module on NetWare, or under IIS on Windows

NetStorage Provides access to NetWare volumes and iFolder servers using…  Web browsers  WebDAV clients Reads the user’s login script and home directory Supports HTTP or HTTPS access Runs on top of Apache and uses Tomcat

WebDAV WebDAV—Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning http://www.webdav.org/ Runs over HTTP or HTTPS NetWare 6 has three WebDAV servers  NetStorage (most feature rich)  Apache (using mod_dav)  NetWare Enterprise Web Server You can use any WebDAV client (like NetDrive, DAVExplorer) or Web Folders.

How Do I Set This Up? Step One  Install NetWare 6

NetWare 6 Install… Straightforward install…  Can install and configure everything during the install process Web Services needs…  IP addresses  DNS names Make sure you understand and document the setup  Important due to the abundance of services

How Do I Set This Up? Step One  Install NetWare 6 Step Two  Verify the configuration

How Do I Set This Up? Step One  Install NetWare 6 Step Two  Verify the configuration Step Three  Configure Web Access or Novell Portal Services

Web Access—NPS Configuration NetWare Web Access configuration  Use ConsoleOne Set up the sandbox for the primary page Setup the URL for NetStorage Email, password change and address book options, too Novell Portal Services  Install and config guide—it’s just too simple  Simple addition from the console!

NetStorage Gadget Configuration NetStorage ships with a gadget for NPS Install the netstorage.npg file located in sys:netstorage Copy all "properties" files located in  \webapps\nps\portal\gadgets\com.novell.nps.gadgets.netstorage.NetSt orage to  \webapps\nps\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\nps\gadgets\netstorage Copy netstorage.properties to netstorage_en.properties located in  \webapps\nps\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\nps\gadgets\netstorage Gadget Configuration Settings  PATHNAME=oneNet/NetStorage  WEBSERVER=http://ipaddress  REF_WEBSERVER=https://ipaddress

Let’s Get To Our Storage… Via browser to  http://server/oneNet/NetStorage http://server/oneNet/NetStorage Via Windows exploder  Thru Add Network Place Via iFolder  Win32 client  Java applet Via NetDrive Via WebDAV

NetDrive

DAVExplorer

Management and mods NetStorage stores config info in the NetWare Registry NetStorage config info can be modified from  http://server/oneNet/nsadmin http://server/oneNet/nsadmin iFolder server config is stored in the sys:\apache\ifolder\server directory iFolder administration can be accessed from  https://server/iFolderServer/admin

NetStorage Apache Configuration Apache includes the sys:\netstorage\xsrv.conf file To enable SSL, include this file within a virtual server that uses the SecureListen directive To change the /NetStorage alias, modify the Alias line in xsrv.conf
