3. Fiction- imaginary events and characters Science Fiction- future life, other planets, and scientific ideas Mystery- stories about solving crimes Historical Fiction- based on events in history which include fictional elements Realistic Fiction- things that could actually happen today

4. Fantasy- characters with supernatural powers Myths- based on gods and goddesses of different cultures Folk Tales a. legend- adventures of great heroes (no supernatural powers) passed down over generations b. fable- old stories that have a moral or lesson to be learned (animals)
