There are various tools which are used to help users in searching web based resources  The most used tools are “Search Engines”  Others are web directories, web indexes, gateways, web portal etc  For this Training, we shall focus only on search engines due to time limitation Prepared by Geofrey Kalumuna4

6.  Know what you are going to search (i.e effects of socio-cultural practices)  Know other synonyms; alternative terms (e,g effects it could be consequences, outcomes, results, etc)  Boolean operators/Logical operator – AND (+), OR (/), AND NOT (-)  Use KEYWORDS – (e.g effects socio-cultural practices) – remove un-necessary words like “of”, “is”, “are”, “however” etc Prepared by Geofrey Kalumuna6

7. 7 There are various ways which you can use to organize web based resources  You can download and save in your computer, laptop, tablet and or smart phone  Make sure you create folder and sub-folder for easy management of your resources  You can copy a link and/or file and paste in your cloud computing apps like Google docs- google drive, Drop box etc  For this Training, we shall focus only on google drive due to time limitation
