3 Why?  Integrate meaningful input from diverse interests across district  Learn from one another to shape a better process  Share ownership in order to establish long term sustainability of effective collaborative teams Support teams as they progress along the PLC Journey (self-reflection and coaching)

4 Goals, Outcomes  Goal: Sustain and Optimize PLCs across D11  Outcomes:  Phase 1 (today). Work as a group to clarify the “Desired States” of PLC work across 6 key areas  Phase 2 (Jan 10 th ): Work with a larger, more diverse group to develop a continuum of descriptors for each desired state.

Implementation and Prototype Plan

7 How #1: Leverage Knowledge, Experience, Resources and Research Resources  Personal Expertise & Experience  Shared Resources  Research Summary Article (time to read)  Dyad (call out top 3 concepts, must be unique*)

8 Split Up for the Day’s Main Event  Count off 1-7  Gather resource packets as you move to your new table (marked with your number)  Introduce each other at the new table  Name, School, Grade/content  Share a “PLC celebration” you have experienced recently

9 How #2: Engaged & Professional Dialogue, Share Ideas, Move Towards Consensus  Norms of Participation  Roles  Facilitator,  Recorder** (365 doc, saved to computer, then uploaded)  Task master/word smith ninja,  Innovator  Consensus Model (Fist to Five, with input)

10 Gallery Walk Provide Teams with Initial Feedback, Clarifications, Questions, Challenges: 1. Base feedback on your knowledge of PLCs and supporting resources* 2. Avoid the “culture of nice.” 3. Be specific!
