2. Grobiņa municipality library works in the section of information in the project

3. Grobiņa municipality library is the information centre of the town.

4. The library is a place for informative, educational and entertaining events for children and adults.

5. In the library people can always view various exhibitions: – exhibitions of painters, – exhibitions of students` creative works, – different thematical exhibitions, – exhibitions on writers.

6. The municipality organized a competition about the best coat of arms of Grobiņa municipality. The pictures were drawn by young readers of Grobiņa municipality There you can see the exhibition dedicated to the birthday celebration of the town.

7. Grobiņa municipality library regularly participates in international projects Participants of the international project “How to Integrate Young Peple in Society after School” visiting the library

8. The tasks we have accomplished...

9. We have established a work group consisting of five people for carrying out the project. Irina Ernstsone – the manager of Grobiņa municipality library Aija Zolmane – the librarian responsible for children’s section Kristīne Čabikina – a 2 nd year student of Liepāja University Valda Cepurīte – the librarian responsible for adults’ section Mirdza Kraskure – the librarian responsible for children’s section

10. Discussions are organized for groups of visitors about the nature and people of Hjelmeland. Meetings with people who have visited Hjelmeland have been organized. Exhibitions of internet materials, periodical publications and articles about Hjelmeland have been organized. Several competitions about Hjelmeland have been organized for children and teenagers.

11. The Nordic Week

12. Events for children and teenagers During the Nordic Week different events took place in Grobiņa municipality library. The librarians educated young generation about partner town Hjelmeland.

18. An event from the Nordic Week On 15 th November a traditional Nordic Week evening event took place, during which we talked about Norway and Hjelmeland.

19. Anita Līdaka, a professor of Liepāja University, also participated in the event. She has visited all the Nordic countries and shared her expertise about it.

22. The exhibition – “Hjelmeland – a small dot in the map of Norway” We made an exhibition about our partnertown Hjelmeland.

23. We used photographies taken by Grobiņa town people who have visited Hjelmeland before.

26. The Exhibition of worldwide ABC books This exhibition showed ABC books from all the world collected by Juris Cibulis. People could see also the ABC books from Norway.

27. We talked about Hjelmeland with the visitors of the exhibition.

29. Plans for spring 2012 We will organize competitions about Hjelmeland for children and teenagers. Videos about Hjelmeland will be shown. An exhibition of trolls drawn by children will be organized.
