WHAT IS OUR MISSION Promote the foundational occupations Advocate to embrace founding interventions Foster Ignatian values through creative and meaningful occupations Offer interdisciplinary experiences Facilitate student-driven initiatives Encourage community outreach Expand with other healthcare fields

LEADERSHIP TEAM President: McKenzie Wiese Favorite ADL: Brushing teeth Favorite Creative Occupation: Country dancing VP: Amy Beribak Favorite ADL: Showering Favorite Creative Occupation: Gardening (indoors and outdoors) Treasurer: Sara Davis Favorite IADL: Cooking (and then eating) Favorite Creative Occupation: Sewing (just got a new sewing machine over the summer) AND I’m also learning to how to line-dance (Yeah, Rednecks!) Advisor: Dr. Flecky Worked as a medical technologist in a special chemistry lab for 8 years Favorite Creative Occupations: Gardening!

Do not have to be skilled in gardening Organize and plan 2 garden events per year Organize watering schedule Decide what to add to the garden next Communicate with outgoing OT classes about contribution Spring semester committee chairs Nominate yourself or others for secretary and sensory garden chairperson positions Due October 1 st Elections on October 8 th meeting Send an email to mckenziewiese@Creighton.edu

JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER Amy Beribak Friday, September 26, 3:00-4:00 “Career Fair” style booths where participants interact in creative occupations to learn about activities that can influence vocations Potential collaboration with Jays-4-Peds

NURSING HOME COMMITTEES By joining a committee you are committing to collaborating with the other participants within your group. You are not required to attend the event. If you are no longer able to serve on the committee, please contact your committee's team leader so that your spot can be filled. Please see your team leader for any questions you may have and for further details regarding the committee's responsibilities.

SENSORY GARDENING Partnership with Girls Scouts Earned gardening badge Taught about adaptive gardening and OT Thanks to OT2s for keeping the garden alive Still more work to be done! Annual planting Annual cleanup Chalkboard underneath walkway

IN THE PROCESS… Community garden partnership with Heart Mission 1:1 “Buddy” Program with residents at local LTC facilities Maybe ADL pillow sewing day
