Who Am I? By: Bryant Welch

My Enneagram Enneagram Type 9: The Mediator believes that to be loved and valued you must blend in and go along to get along. Consequently, Mediators seek harmony and are self-forgetting, comfortable and steady, but also avoid conflicts and can be stubborn. I think this is a real representative of how I really am I like to be laid back and don’t get shook up about the small stuff. I believe if you don’t stress the small stuff you can handle the big conflicts better.

Enneagram Based on my results my wings are an 8 and a 1. This is correct with the type of people I surround myself with. An 8, The Protector and a 1, the Perfectionist. I think I surround myself with people like this I because I am not the most organized person and I like being with number 8’s because I like feeling strong and in control.

Enneagram Stress Point A number six is my stress point. A number six is the loyal skeptic. They believe you must gain protection and security in a world you just can’t trust. They can be overly doubtful and fearful. Security point A number three is my security point. A number three is the performer. They believe you must accomplish and succeed to be loved. They can be fast-paced, goal focused but also inattentive to feelings and impatient.

How I See Myself and How Others See Me Model the way This was by far the worst I rated myself during the examination. I would like to try and be a role model for people but I just haven’t found the drive to prove to myself I can be. I gave myself a 15. Others gave me a 23

How I See Myself and How Others See Me Inspired a Shared Vision I rated myself low on this because I don’t look forward very much. I like to focus on the situation at hand. I gave myself a 15 Others gave me a 24 Challenge the Process I gave myself a 20 Others gave me a 25

How I See Myself and How Others See Me Enable others to act I ranked myself pretty high for this category. I like to let others succeed before I do. Others gave me a 25 Encourage the Heart I gave myself a 20 Others gave me a 25

Self-Evaluation After self-evaluating myself it hard to rate yourself on a scale because you are always wondering of what other people think about when they view you. I’m not always honest, not always forward looking, not always competent or inspiring. But where do I think I stand on those rankings? I would rate myself a 6-7 for honesty because everyone has had white lies; a 5-6 for forward looking, 7 for competent and a 7 for inspiration.

Leadership Styles After taking the Leadership Styles test it shows my top style as an ambassador, next a creative builder, then finally experienced guide. I agree with the results of my test and think they are very accurate. As an ambassador I am able to get out of nasty situations and choose my words carefully not to blow the situation out of proportion. As a creative builder I sew new paths and new oppurtunities for change. I am driven in the beginning and let people branch off of an idea towards a common goal. Then finally I am an experienced guide. I have an ability to listen and are empathetic to how someone is feeling.
10
Leadership Styles I am also a participative leader while still being a delegative leader. I am a participative leader because I use input from other members of the group to reach a goal. I always like hearing suggestions and leave the floor open to discussion. That is why it is so closely linked to my delegative leadership style. I like have the final decision in a conflict or problem.
