LIFE OF SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE Born in Edinburgh in 1859 Was sent to a Catholic school in the north of England Successfully completed his medical studies at the local University Worked as a general practitioner in Plymouth The lack of patients gave him time to write After moving to Southsea, he began to write more In 1891 he moved to London, soon gave up medical work to become a full-time writer He died in 1930, aged seventy-one
