20 Writing No written paper An interim assessment framework table has been devised to track and tick off when children have achieved a particular objective in a piece of writing. A portfolio for each child with at least six examples of their best writing in will be created and marked off against the interim assessment framework table. Class teachers can choose samples to evidence. Teacher Assessments for writing don’t need to be submitted until 30th June. Children are allowed to have success criteria, word banks, word books, dictionaries, thesaurus etc. available to them as well as information on the working walls for writing tasks. It’s advised that you complete a long piece of evidence writing over a long period of time so children have the chance to edit and improve without the teacher’s guidance. This year the children do not have to secure the handwriting element to ‘meet’ the end of year expectations, but they do to be awarded a ‘greater depth’ judgement. The handwriting must also be consistent across all of the evidence provided in the portfolio of work.
