HuQAS (Human Quality Assessment Services) is a not-for-profit Kenyan registered Non-Governmental Organization that has been offering Proficiency Testing (PT) Services to medical laboratories in the region for the last fifteen years.

To be the proficiency testing provider of choice, internationally, for all medical and related laboratory diagnostic test parameters and methods.

To offer, professionally and with integrity, Proficiency Testing Services to clinical laboratories, with an aim of helping them produce accurate, reliable and comparable test results at all time, while working towards improving and standardizing clinical laboratory testing to international standards. HuQAS endeavor to enhance knowledge on technical and scientific developments, to participating laboratories, staff and other stakeholders, through training and scientific conferences."

To identify specific problems within participating laboratories that may relate to instruments, reagents or personnel and initiating remedial actions. To build confidence in the quality status of the laboratories among doctors and patients. To assess laboratories’ ability to perform tests competently as per their stated internal quality goals and the requirements of regulatory and/or accreditation bodies.

What necessitated? Acknowledged lack of confidence with laboratory diagnostic test results by most of the Physicians High cost of available international EQA schemes A desire by HuQAS Pioneers to play a positive role in enhancement of quality laboratory services in the health sector.
