Content Area - Reading Expectations: Students will continue fluency progress with more difficult texts. (123 wpm) Use knowledge of text and language to: ask questions, compare/contrast, infer, determine importance, and summarize. Students will use evidence from text to support their thinking. Instruction: Focus Lessons Target comprehension strategies Readers’ Workshop Independent reading, building fluency, putting comprehension strategies into practice, Book Clubs (small groups) Students spend large chunks of time reading and working with text at their INDEPENDENT LEVEL!
