His writing work history His first published work was an effusive pastoral romance in prose and verse, La Galatea (1585). He wrote over 20 plays. He completed his book, Don Quixote in 1614

His early life and family He was baptized on November 9, 1558 His father a surgeon who presented himself as a nobleman Cervantes spent much of his childhood moving from town to town, while his father sought work

His teen and young adult life He went to school in Madrid He went to Italy to study literature. In 1570, he became a soldier

Our his way home In 1575 Cervantes was on his way home form war when the Turks took over their ship and they all became slaves he was ransomed by the Trinitarians, and returned to his family in Madrid in 1580

When he came home In 1584, he married 22 years younger Catalina de Salazar The next 20 years he led a nomadic existence, working as a purchasing agent for the Spanish Armada, and as a tax collector. He suffered a bankruptcy, and was imprisoned at least twice (1597 and 1602) because of irregularities in his accounts, one due rather to some subordinate than to himself

The summary of DQ The book is about a man named Alonso Quiixano Who lives on reading his books and he begins to think he in in one of his book He started trying to be a knight He make up a knight name and goes on all kinds of adventures Until he finally dies and realizes who he really is.
