4 St. Louis Crash Data Overview Rural Crashes 70% of the CSAH/CR severe crashes occurred in rural areas. Non-Intersection Related Crashes 60% (41) of CSAH/CR rural severe crashes are non-intersection related. 61% (25) of CSAH/CR severe rural, non-intersection related are run off road severe crashes, 52% (13) of which occurred on a curve. Intersection-Related Crashes 37% of CSAH/CR rural severe crashes are intersection-related. 40% (10) occurred at thru-stop intersections (60% of these crashes were right angle) 44% (11) were “Other” traffic control devices (36% of these crashes were road departure) Urban Crashes 32% (31 crashes) of the CSAH/CR severe crashes occurred in urban areas. 56% were non-intersections related, 33% were road departure 8/29/20114
